Crystal City-Pentagon Rotary Club engages in international service.

Our most recent international service project centers on supporting the mental health of Ukrainian refugee orphans in Poland. Learn more about this effort here.

Our club is also currently supporting projects to supply water and sanitation infrastructure to the Honduras Independence Bilingual School in Quimistán, Honduras, and to provide tables and chairs to the Adja Penda Ba School in Senegal.  We recently donated Kenyan-made shoes that grow to HIV-positive children in Mozambique.

Our club also provides support to ShelterBox, a Rotary partner that delivers the essentials families need to begin rebuilding their lives after disaster.

Peace Fellowships

We’ve sponsored several Peace Fellows who attend one of five Rotary Peace Centers for a two-year, fully-funded master’s degree in Peace. One of our latest Peace Fellows graduated from the International Christian University in Tokyo and later attended Harvard University. We’re always in the process of looking for other applicants to sponsor.

Ending Polio

Rotary has been working to eradicate polio since 1979. We support polio eradication efforts through the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, a public-private partnership led by national governments and six partners: the World Health Organization (WHO), Rotary International, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Gavi, the vaccine alliance. Our club members have participated in immunization days in polio-affected countries.
