Wellness and Wellbeing: A New Initiative for Crystal City-Pentagon Rotarians

Thursday, March 12, 2026
In March 2026, the Crystal City-Pentagon Rotary Club (CCPRC) launched its Wellness and Wellbeing Initiative, joining Rotary District 7610's Mind Matters Initiative, a district-wide effort focused on mental health, wellness, and wellbeing.
The initiative kicked off in mid-March with the first installment of a new speaker series. Workforce Transformation Strategist Mika Cross opened the conversation by inviting members to reflect on their "best day" at work or in service and to think about both the conditions that help them thrive and the obstacles that drain their energy.

The discussion was practical and personal. Members identified a common thread: connection, service to others, and the opportunity to do good in the community are not just Rotary values, they are genuine sources of personal wellbeing. Members also shared the simple, everyday practices that help them recharge, including time in nature, morning walks, spending time with pets, and breathing and meditation exercises.

The conversation was a fitting start to what will be an ongoing effort. CCPRC will welcome future speakers in this series to continue the conversation about how our community sustains itself in work and in service.
